Aishwarya Rai denies she has pulled out of "Robot"
  • Aishwarya Rai has denied a front-page report in a leading English daily published from Chennai (Feb.13) that she "has just pulled out" of director Shankar's next mega venture "Robot" with superstar Rajinikanth in the lead.

In an interview to a private television channel, the Bollywood top star confirmed that she is pairing with Rajini and she is very much there in the project.

After Shankar's super-hit "Sivaji: the Boss", Rajini has signed up for two movies; "Robot" and another movie "Kuselan" to be directed by P. Vasu.

The newspaper had quoted sources in Shankar's office as saying that the reason cited by Aishwarya Rai "was that Shankar wanted a two-year call sheet, but the actress is believed to have told him that she plans to have a baby, and hence could not commit her dates to Robot".

Aishwarya Rai told the TV interviewer that it is true that she will pair with Rajini in Robot. "The story is new and different and I am playing a character which is also different from those I have done earlier", she said.

Asked whether she is pregnant and when the baby is expected, she said she is not pregnant. "I have no plans to have a baby now and will wait for a few more years," she added.

According to media reports, she has been offered a hefty Rs 6 crore to act in "Robot" and she has received a "token advance".

"Robot" will be made in three languages at an estimated cost of Rs. 125 crore. Ayangaran International will produce it.

Aishwarya Rai disclosed during the interview that besides "Robot" she has agreed to act in a Tamil-Hindi bilingual film to be directed by Mani Ratnam. What is special about this film is that she will be paired opposite her husband Abhishek Bachchan
